Something old, something new.

Our printers have decades of experience in the darkroom. Since our inception in the 90’s we have collaborated with some of the world’s leading photographers on fine art books, print exhibitions, fashion magazines and advertising campaigns.

With our skilled printing team, under the direction of Richard Foulser, a master printer with 30+ years of experience, we offer custom C-type hand prints, traditional black & white silver gelatin and RC (resin coated) prints, as well as digital archival inkjet prints. Whether the project is a high volume, time pressed assignment, or one print, all projects are handled with the same high quality standards.

Color (C-Type) Printing

Traditional C-Type prints are made in the darkroom to give a handcrafted feel – rich, tangible, unique. Our Master Printers have wealth of experience and can help you achieve the aesthetic you desire. We print on Kodak and Fuji Archival papers and offer a variety of surfaces.

Analog Printing FAQs

What kind of chromogenic papers do you offer?

Fuji and Kodak papers are available in a variety of surfaces.

What kind of B&W papers do you offer?

We work with Ilford Photo papers. Select from different surfaces and/or tones.

What is the difference between Resin Coated and Fiber Silver Gelatin B&W papers?

Resin coated paper is thinner than fiber paper, weighing about 190 grams. The paper is sealed between layers of polyethylene with the emulsion and a super coating on top. As the paper is sealed in the resin layers it never absorbs liquid, the chemicals never permeate the paper itself so it is quick to wash and dry. Resin coated papers dry flat and are particularly good for scanning.

Fiber paper generally has a thicker base and weighs in around 250 grams. On fiber paper, the emulsion is able to sit in the grain giving the image more depth and richness compared to prints on resin coated papers. Because chemicals are absorbed as the paper develops and fixes, it will need a longer time to wash and dry. During drying, the paper will curl and needs to be flattened in a press once dry. Black and white fiber papers are also wonderful for scanning.
